Muniz Family – Peruibe, Brazil
In August 2021, Ewerton and Natasha, along with their young daughter Gabriella, moved to Peruibe. Brazil, a coastal suburb of Sao Paolo. Their desire was to plant a church that provides solid biblical teaching and opportunities for ministry to the community
Pastor Ewerton was born and raised in Brazil, but moved to the US to attend Bible College. He has served in several US churches in leadership roles, including teaching and leading worship. His desire was return to his home country to bring the ministry of Calvary Chapel. Now they are leading a growing congregation, completing a building project, and looking towards greater outreach opportunities.

Brazil boasts a massive land area that makes it the fifth-largest country in the world, and the sixth most-populated with 213 million people. Brazilians celebrate unity in diversity at the core of their culture, including through food, music, and the arts. While Brazil has the largest Roman Catholic population in the world, and a proportionally large number of evangelical believers (26.9%), it is home to many other religions, including ethnic religions and spiritism. In the Amazon region, there are many indigenous unreached people groups.
Peruíbe has deep religious roots dating back to the 16th century, when Jesuit missionaries evangelized local tribes. Peruíbe is also home to protected ancestral lands and the Guarani Indigenous communities. The region’s dense Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Forest) fosters a highly contemplative and eco-spiritual environment, where practices like meditation, Candomblé, and local shamanism revere the sacredness of the natural world.
